Hosting party and feast are
wonderful things to do, though it takes a lot of effort, time and money. In
this case budgeting is important. I have once hosted a party and it is not
easy, first, I planned it well so I will not be in an awful situation if the
party is going on.
Our house is not big so what I did is we make it spacious by cleaning and repositioning some things. We put the old stuffs in the parking area so our living room looks big, with this we can cater plenty of guests in a fine area.
Food Budgeting for Pinoy Party and Feast
Now let us talk about the
budget, this must be the first thing to consider in planning a party or feast
in the Philippines. If there is a limited budget something will suffer, but of
course you should not let this happen. For example, the food can still looks
fine and healthy in taste but in more affordable way. In our case, we
have many guests so we add some dishes that are affordable yet can still be
considered party foods. Here are the following:
One of the dishes is coated small cuts of eggplant, squash
and cauliflower and we add a dip by mixing mayonnaise with ketchup. We coated
the veggies using flour and then we fried it. It looks nice and new in the
dining table. In addition, I also prepare this dish during our town feast; we
do not have lots of budget so we need to make the table look full and better.
You may also try cooking lumpia with fish as the main ingredient. It is more
affordable, healthy and new than pork lumpia. Deep frying small potatoes
without peeling its skin is also good as ads on in a party table. Lastly, don't
forget to add chicken in your party food, you may consider cutting chicken in
small bits and coat it with bread crumbs or flour, this is a good way of
increasing the number of your party or feast foods in affordable way. Just make
a delicious sauce that will complement the taste of chicken, you can make sauce or dip using
oyster sauce, ketchup or mayonnaise!
